Why Choose JL Audio CS112LG-TW3 Enclosed Car Subwoofer?
High-grade Automotive Carpet
In this low-profile PowerWedge™ subwoofer system, JL Audio harnesses the performance of the 12TW3 to deliver amazing sub-bass from an enclosure that is only 4.5 in. (114 mm) deep. This low-profile enclosure design has been carefully engineered to the optimum sealed enclosure alignment for the 12TW3-D4 and has been fine-tuned through extensive real-world listening.
The PowerWedge™ subwoofer system is shipped wired, loaded and ready to connect via a five-way binding post terminal. Finish: Black, high-grade automotive carpet with "JL AUDIO" embroidered in silver on the front baffle. A steel mesh grille is included to protect the subwoofer driver.
Maximum Amp Power & Clean Output
This system features an optimized 2-Ohm total impedance load designed specifically to squeeze every ounce of power and efficiency out of your monoblock amp. With a rock-solid power handling range of 100–400 watts RMS (and a staggering 800 watts max), it cranks out pristine, distortion-free thuds even when you're pushing the volume to the limit. Plus, thanks to its high 82 dB sensitivity rating, it generates massive, jaw-dropping acoustic output even with moderate amplifier setups. Connect it easily via the premium 5-way binding posts and experience clean, highly efficient bass that hits exactly when and how it's supposed to.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
- • Why am I getting underwhelming, quiet bass from the CS112LG-TW3 in my trunk?
Sealed enclosures in separate trunks often suffer from sound isolation. Ensure you are pulling a clean, full-range signal from your factory head unit and that your amplifier's phase is optimized (try switching between 0 and 180 degrees).
- • Can I cut open this enclosure to convert it into a ported box for more volume?
Do not modify the box. It is explicitly engineered and CNC-machined to the exact air volume required for sealed performance. If you want a ported setup, you should purchase a separate custom enclosure designed for a TW3 driver.
- • Why did the mounting screws strip out when I tried to remove the subwoofer?
To keep the box ultra-thin, JL Audio routes out the mounting face directly into the MDF panel, leaving very little wood thread engagement. If they strip, you must use wood filler and pre-drill new holes, or add screw anchors.
- • Is my 2-ohm enclosure missing deep, low-end frequencies?
Ultra-compact shallow enclosures roll off earlier on ultra-low sub-bass notes compared to full-sized boxes. Set your amplifier's low-pass filter (LPF) to roughly 80Hz–90Hz and consider applying a minor 3dB bass boost near 45Hz.
- • Why is my amplifier running extremely hot or clipping while driving this sub?
This system presents a 2-ohm load. Ensure your amplifier is explicitly rated stable at 2 ohms, and verify that the input gain is properly matched using a digital multimeter or clipping indicator to prevent dangerous signal distortion.
- • Can I rewire this pre-loaded box to a higher 4-ohm or 8-ohm impedance?
The pre-loaded box houses a Dual 4-ohm (D4) driver pre-wired in parallel for a 2-ohm system load. You can remove the woofer and rewire the voice coils in a series configuration to convert the entire enclosure into an 8-ohm load.
- • What size amplifier should I use to avoid burning out the voice coils?
Use a monoblock amp capable of delivering 300 to 400 watts RMS at 2 ohms. Avoid running a smaller amp into clipping to get more volume, as sending a clipped, distorted signal is what typically destroys the voice coils.
- • Why does the bass feel delayed or lack impact when paired with my factory speakers?
This is typically a phase cancellation problem because the subwoofer is physically farther away than your main cabin speakers. Reverse the speaker wires at the amp terminal or toggle your amp's phase switch to fix it.

Great sound, amazingly compact and is very high quality. It's got a nice and clean sound that fits in small trunk space. I'm using a 300-watt mono amp to power this single sub. Lemme say it, if you want excellent sound quality for your driving experience that can get loud and still be clean, no other option but this one. Sounds awesome, hits hard and is maybe the best shallow sub out there. These things pound.

Hits hard! I can really the thumping in my chest. Fits nicely, thanks to its shallow enclosure. Expensive stuff though
